Velvet Nelson has worked in education for over ten years. After graduating from Lynchburg College, she began her career at the community college level and moved to the university level a few years later. While pursuing her career she earned her Masters of Education from North Carolina State University. Velvet has always been involved with online education and has seen it progress into a valuable opportunity for students and professionals. Her mission has always been to make online education as rewarding as traditional education.
Jon Boggiano most recently founded JMCS, a family investment group with his brother Chris, where he works as an angel investor and entrepreneur with expertise in the energy, education, green building, and technology sectors. Prior to JMCS, Jon co-founded Everblue.edu, the only nationally accredited school focused on energy and sustainability education. In 2011, Jon was recognized by the White House as a Champion of Change for his work at Everblue.
Jon also served 5+ years as an officer in the US Army’s 1st Infantry Division in Germany, Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq. He currently serves as an Operations Officer in the US Army Reserve.
Mark is the co-founder of Acta Wireless, an early stage investment and advisory firm. Mark has over 25 years experience in the wireless industry as a wireless operator, entrepreneur and investor. He has been part of the founding management team of four companies, including Invertix, a pioneer in wireless instant messaging and presence, and Telecorp PCS, which was acquired by AT&T Wireless Services.
Earlier in his career, Mark served as a manager at MLJ, where he was instrumental in the launch of the first PCS network in the United States.
Mark served as an officer in the United States Air Force during the first Gulf War. He is the Chairman of Acta Consulting and serves on the boards of the Sweet Relish, NextNav (observer), and the Mobile Giving Foundation. He holds BSEE and MSEE degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Brandon Shelton is a strategy leader, a problem solver and a relationship builder. He led the grassroots effort that became Task Force X, a driven network of experts and advisors that evaluate talent and develop entrepreneurs and businesses. A veteran entrepreneur himself, Brandon first founded T2 Growth Advisors to help teams design and activate strategic frameworks to reach their goals.

Chris Boggiano is an angel investor and entrepreneur with expertise in the energy, education, and technology sectors. In December 2011, Chris sold Everblue Training Institute (Everblue.edu), an accredited school he co-founded dedicated to sustainability and energy efficiency related training with courses available in over 100 cities worldwide.
Prior to founding Everblue, Chris served in the US Army with deployments to Kosovo and Iraq, where he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor for his actions during combat. Chris graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point with a B.S. in General Engineering. He still serves as an officer in the US Army Reserve.
Theodore Claypoole is a technology attorney and is currently cochair of the Cyberspace Mobile Commerce Subcommittee for the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section. Ted is the author of chapters in published books on biometrics and data security, as well as several articles on Internet security and Internet law.
