ProctorFree was recently selected as a semi-finalist for NC IDEA’s Spring 2013 Grant Cycle. As a semi-finalist, ProctorFree is one step closer to being awarded up to $50,000 to support innovation and growth within the company.
In total, 159 North Carolina companies applied for the NC IDEA grant and 30 were selected to move forward in the cycle. Of those 30, only 6 companies were chosen in the early-decision application process, of which, ProctorFree was selected out of 57 early applications. “It is a distinct honor and we are incredibly grateful to be selected as a semi-finalist by NC IDEA,” co-founder of ProctorFree, Mike Murphy stated. “We are especially proud of the fact that our application was rated so highly by experienced entrepreneurs and investors who know what makes a great startup.”
As a semi-finalist, ProctorFree will submit a detailed proposal in mid-April. Finalists will be invited to Durham, NC to present to a series of investors, entrepreneurs, and industry experts and the winners will be announced in May.
NC IDEA was established to stimulate high-growth, technologies companies in North Carolina. By providing funding, NC IDEA assists companies in moving forward to future funding from angel investors or venture capital funding.
